Simplicity is key. Whilst I admire the Jasper AI rivals that offer a blank sheet of paper and a reliance on your own intuition. I much prefer the wide array of templates that I can use – each one designed to fulfil a different need.
Facebook Community
In the Jasper AI Facebook Group you’ll see real passion and enthusiasm for a product. It’s fantastic to see so many different entrepreneurs and company owners collaborating to make Jasper a better place by improving their content and pursuing new objectives. Listening to their use cases and unique requirements is really inspiring to me.
Chrome Extension
Jasper now goes everywhere you do with the new chrome extension released October 2022. So rather than having to login to Jasper, you can now just call the chrome extension and start generating AI driven copy. As an example, you can now quickly create content on Notion, Google Docs, Linkedin, Gmail, Shopify, Canva, and HubSpot to name just a few.
Use Cases
Jasper AI is incredibly versatile and can be used for all kinds of content types – Blogs, YouTube, Social Media, or even sales pages for your own products. Self Improvement
Does it auto-produce faultless content 100% of the time. Absolutely not. But does it create quality copy that is in many ways better than my own? Yes.
In my case, I find that often the output from Jasper allows me to think about different angles I can use for my copywriting. Jasper AI isn’t a push-button miracle solution – more on that in a second – but it is a great assistant to work with and develop my own writing style.
Downsides of Jasper AI
Is Jasper AI perfect? No, obviously not, let’s keep it real here as it should be a well-balanced and honest Jasper AI review for you to get anything meaningful from it. When I first tried it I genuinely didn’t have much expectation at all. But I was pleasantly surprised. It was actually pretty decent which meant this review took an unexpected direction!
Instead, my biggest negatives are:
Long-form Content Expectations
Some people always have ridiculous expectations and that’s the case with Jasper. Whilst most people appreciate it’s a great way to assist your content creation workflow, some expect to press a button and spit out a 2000-word high-quality blog post that outranks everyone else in Google.
SPOILER ALERT – It won’t.
And it shouldn’t either. It should be a companion that helps you produce blog posts and sales copy, not do all of it for you.
I do feel that the longer the output, the more that the copy gets a little lost and muddled, ad this is improved with Boss Mode which seems to analyse more of the existing content for you before generating suggestions. I also expect to see continuous improvements from a company that is putting so much time and effort into its product.
Credit system
How much Jasper AI costs is something we will cover in a short moment as part of this Jasper AI review. However, I will let the cat out of the bag a little.
On a starter subscription (which is very reasonably priced) you get 20,000 words of generated content a month (Plus a bonus 10,000 words if you sign up using my link). Which as it suggests, means each time you create some copy, you consume that credit (Boss Mode starts at 50k words and around $49)
After you have used all of your credit you need to earn or purchase additional credit.
Personally, I would like to have more words to play with for the basic subscription and not need to worry about credit. However, in their defence, I know very little about running a SAAS startup and also the financial implications of using GPT-3 technology.
Jasper AI pays for each content generation themselves and then serves that to you using an incredibly simple UI, so maybe the pricing strategy is wholly justified?
Fact Checker
You need to be aware of this one. The algorithm used in the Jasper AI platform is not designed to give accurate facts. Ensure that you double-check any content that relies on factual information and research thoroughly before publishing it.
My own blog talks a lot about software and tools, if I run queries around these then the figures can be dated or incorrect. The moral of the story – don’t be lazy and check your facts.

Alternatives to Jasper AI
We have looked at the pro’s and con’s of Jasper AI, and these are echoed in some of the alternatives too.
But realistically, what are the alternative options for your content creation (that converts).
Write Your Own Content
You could just keep tapping that keyboard and stay on the path you have followed so far! Seriously though, with AI Copywriting software, you are going to still be developing your own skills, just at a quicker pace.
Outsource
There are so many sites these days where you can hire good quality freelance writers, sites like Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, iWriter and more. Personally, I have found that you often get what you pay for. So if your budget is small then you are unlikely to find the kind of talent that will increase sales of your products significantly just using their persuasive writing skills.
AI Copywriting Software
There are a few alternatives in the AI Copywriting Software market (Rytr, CopyAI, WriteSonic…). Similar concepts, but slightly different approaches. For me, Jasper AI tops the list, but your needs may vary from mine, so the best way to find out is to test.

My Recommended Plan:
If you are new to AI copywriting and Jasper, then I would dive in on boss mode. Use it with all features unlocked and the ability to use commands and recipes. If you then decide you only need access to specific templates just restrict it at a later date and downgrade to the starter plan. I think you will have a more positive experience of using Jasper and will appreciate everything it can do.

Final Thoughts
Look, I will be absolutely honest, when I received an email recommending Jasper (from a friend) I pretty much made my mind up – it would be another one of those software that I use for 10 minutes then cancel. Sounds great on paper, but the reality is it wouldn’t add much value.
I expected the worst but still decided to put it to the test, and see if it could help me with my copywriting needs and to write this Jasper AI review.
However, I have actually found Jasper AI to be pretty impressive. It’s really well-designed and intuitive. It not only allows me to write faster but it really encourages me to think about the language and style of writing I use too.
This software helps content creators produce better, more engaging, and more persuasive content creation in less time.
It isn’t going to work miracles though, and I certainly wouldn’t buy it and sit back thinking your job is done. But if you treat Jasper AI as a writing assistant, a companion, then the benefits far outweigh the monthly subscription costs.
