I still remember those first few chapters of DotCom Secrets. I had no clue who Russell Brunson was, and what Clickfunnels is.

I was recommended the book in order to learn a little about marketing, as I was trying to help my wife launch her own business.

Different Affiliate Program Types

I assume if you are reading this then you know what Affiliate Marketing is, but if not….

Affiliate Marketing is recommending products/services and receiving a commission should someone purchase via your link.

Many retailers, software providers, course creators also run affiliate schemes.

These affiliate schemes have many variables, two of the ones you need to take note of are:

• Is it a one off commission payment or recurring payments?
• What is the payout? (set amount or a percentage)

For example, Amazon can pay around 1-5% one off commission if someone buys via your link, nothing major, but people trust Amazon and know they will be price competitive so people are more likely to buy (brand trust).

Whereas a software provider may provide a more lucrative commission (High Ticket) or even a regular recurring commission (monthly payment), one of which is ClickFunnels.

What is ClickFunnels?

Clickfunnels is more niche than Amazon. It is a company owned by marketing genius and entrepreneur, Russell Brunson. Their aim is to create tools and training that help businesses generate and convert leads into customers.

So they have various products:

Clickfunnels itself which is a webpage builder – specifically for creating funnels – landing pages, membership sites, lead funnels, sales funnels, eCommerce websites and so on.

However they are also big in the sales and marketing training arena. Russell is the author of:

• DotCom Secrets
• Expert Secrets
• Network Secrets
• Traffic Secrets

It’s a tool that can help businesses (and affiliates) convert leads into customers much easier.

Does ClickFunnels Pay Recurring Commissions?

My commission level at ClickFunnels is 40%. If you are just getting started then its 30%, and you have to apply to be an affiliate. Tighter regulations changed the scheme but its still very rewarding.

Some of their products will pay you more, for example, the One Funnel Away Challenge pays 100% of the $100 it costs to partake in that challenge.

If someone signs up to Clickfunnels via my link, then I will earn 40% each month that they are a member. Many people have made huge sums of money promoting Clickfunnels because of this.

A standard membership will cost $97 p/m – of which I will earn $38.80 each month for that person. If they signed up to the premium package, Clickfunnels Platinum then I would earn 40% of $297, a cool $118.80 per month.

Now you can see why the big affiliates have been attracted to ClickFunnels for a while.

The best part is, it’s a great product. Russell Brunson has created almost a cult following, so that’s a lot of loyal customers all needing a tool to improve their business.

What about ClickFunnels High Ticket Affiliate Commissions?

I told you earlier.. Russell is a genius. He is also an affiliate himself.

He knows the game.

He knows how to create irresistible offers that people want to promote.

Many of the Clickfunnels products are actually training courses or annual packages that can be bought for a one off payment.

He uses value ladders to step up his product offering. Starting with a book and ending on a mastermind group (the inner circle) which costs a whopping $50k.

From an affiliates point of view this gives you an idea of how ClickFunnels pays for one off commissions…

• One Funnel Away Challenge (30 day online course) – Commission of $100
• Funnel Scripts (Copywriting software) – Commission of $318.80

ClickFunnels also favor sticky cookies – which means that if you signed someone up for a book and later on they decided to buy 12 months subscription, unless they clicked on another persons link in the interim, you would get the payout for the 12 months sub too!

Over the last 12 months I have dived into all of the ClickFunnels sub communities, and undertook training from some of the leading affiliates.

There are multiple ways to achieve this (many of which are discussed in the Clickfunnels affiliate bootcamp) however, it is about creating content that helps people.

Don’t be that guy that promotes awful products that pay well. Be ethical and promote the products and services that you believe in and use yourself.

To me, affiliate marketing is about giving value, showing your audience the tools to make their life better. Supporting them with content and guidance.

It is about solving problems, and easing pains.

High ticket affiliate programs often require that extra touch. Whether that’s through the content you create or the bonuses you add to your irresistible offer.

Generally you are asking someone to part with a significant amount of money, so make them understand why and put them at ease with that cost.

For example, I promote Zach’s course.

I do this because I am a member myself. He has invested so much time and money building his career and his own personal development and put that all into his course.

He adds to that by providing a community, the opportunity to promote his course, and numerous other bonuses that allow you to get started fast.

A couple of sales and the course is paid for.

Whilst many people baulk at the cost of training, you need to understand how much of an investment in yourself this is. You are paying for the support, guidance, and knowledge that someone has spent years building up.

I do understand.

I used to try and do everything for free.

Paying for Zachs course was the scariest thing I have ever done, but equally the best business decision I have ever made.

Final Thoughts On Promoting ClickFunnels High Ticket Affiliate Program

There are many affiliate programs out there, and you will find success stories in most.

As much as I knock Amazons affiliate program, there are plenty of people that have created rewarding niche sites. However they rely on numbers.

As a beginner to affiliate marketing you have a long road ahead of you creating content.

Blogs & YouTube are slow growers.

Long term they can be really good earners, but you are going to have to work hard to get them to that point.

The advantage of high ticket affiliate programs is that you don’t need as many people to buy.

You can make ONE sale at 50% commission ($997 product) and earn $498

Or for that same amount, you can try smaller affiliate programs and need a whopping 664 sales at 5% commission ($15 product)

One sale or 664?

That is why I mainly pursue the more attractive schemes such as the Clickfunnels high ticket affiliate program.

But do it right. For the right reasons.

Promote products that help people and you are happy to pay for yourself.

Category Kings

Firstly, he admitted that they had lost their focus and whilst trying to be good at everything they were losing their grip on being great at their core offering – sales funnel builders.

Focusing on non core products and the sheer growth of ClickFunnels had left them over committed to development and support in other areas.

He is determined to focus their efforts again and become category kings in what they do best – Funnels & Follow Up Funnels.

With that in mind they have sunsetted Actionetics and Actionetics MD. Current subscribers to the Etison Suite (Inc Actionetics) will go into maintenance mode, but new users won’t be able to sign up for them.

A bold move and refreshing when someone admits what they got wrong – an honesty I always admire.

It is early days however the intention is that ClickFunnels will look to acquire and collaborate with industry leading tech companies in order to provide the best integration tools, instead of building their own.

ClickFunnels Packages 2020+

So the biggest announcement was around the ClickFunnels product refresh, the shake up of the packages on offer.

The $19 shared plan is no more – as you can read in this blog post. Hardly a surprise, it was always a little backdoor discount trick rather than something they shouted about. Clearly it doesn’t mine up with their new catalog.

You can still share funnels and get people to sign up – but they will have to pay the cost of $97 p/m for ClickFunnels Basic Plan.

What is ClickFunnels Basic Package?

Basic is probably not the way of describing such a good piece of software. It still gives many people what they need and is a great way of establishing how sales funnels will work for your business:

• 3 Custom Domains

The ClickFunnels Basic Plan still costs $97 p/m and has had a few little extras thrown in too. Notably, FunnelFlix and Funnel Hacker Forum (More on these later in this ClickFunnels Platinum Review).

If like me you may already be in the Clickfunnels Official Facebook page. I am going to be honest with you (as that’s the whole point of a review huh!). I don’t like it.

There is the odd bit of gold but ultimately I feel like it’s just a swarm of people looking to prey on newbies to soak up that sign up commission. I would prefer to give it to someone who helped me rather than some of the disingenuous practices i see in there.

It is also a trolling ground of people who prefer to use Kartra, LeadPages and other Funnel Builders.

There is nothing wrong with variety but they use the group to pick people off the second they show some kind of issue or problem with ClickFunnels.

I think ClickFunnels have seen this too. In my opinion that is why they have created the Funnel Hacker Forum. A controlled environment only open to paid members.

I know I will be spending some time in there. Whilst using a forum feels a little “2005” it also provides a bit of assurance and safety that i can ask questions without feeling like i will be ridiculed.

Likewise I can offer help and opinion to others in an open and encouraging environment.

After all, I may not be an expert, but i could be one step ahead of someone out there. Fellow FunnelHacker Forum members all have paid subscriptions and skin in the game.

I think there are a couple of things to consider when deciding if ClickFunnels Platinum is the best package for you.

Do you need the follow up funnels and also an abundance of top class training?

Do you need ClickFunnels unlimited and the ability to create sales funnels without any constraints?

If so then ClickFunnels Platinum may be the right option for you, but it does come at a cost, $297 per month to be exact.

For many of the 95,000 registered ClickFunnels users it is worth every cent. ClickFunnels is a tool that can do so much for your business it can be minimal in comparison to other business costs.

I love some of the improvements they have made. I think adding a forum is a great way of trying to create a safe space and an environment that is more focused on helping fellow funnel builders.

If people will use the forum is another question – let’s face it, we love the convenience of Facebook groups.

FunnelFlix is also a fantastic addition to the subscription – considering the cost of these packages alone, if your an avid learner, then combined with the virtual hack-a-thons you should be a sales funnel master in no time!

How Much Does ClickFunnels Cost?

Some of you will baulk at the price, some of you will think it’s ridiculously cheap given the additional custom you can quickly generate.

As of 23rd September 2019, there are two price points for ClickFunnels.

ClickFunnels Basic starts at $97. This gives you access to create 20 funnels, a large amount of visitors and several custom domains. It’s plenty enough for most people.

ClickFunnels Platinum Package is the latest offering which will set you back the grand sum of $297 each month, and you get:

• ClickFunnels Unlimited
• Follow Up Funnels Unlimited (Run your own affiliate scheme and email autoresponder)
• Daily Virtual Hack-a-thon (live stream step by step funnel building)
• Funnel Hacker Forum
• FunnelFlix Membership (Netflix of Funnel Building. Tonnes of expensive training packages to stream on demand).

These are the new ClickFunnels packages that Russell Brunson has announced in an effort to take ClickFunnels to the next level. He wants to simplify their offerings and focus on becoming a category king.

In other words, he wants to go back, cut the crap, and FOCUS, on becoming the best in class at what they do rather than trying to do everything and be good at a bit of it all.

Where does the ClickFunnels Shared Funnel Plan at $19 come into this?

That’s the point.

It doesn’t.

At times this was a mythical beast anyway. ClickFunnels didn’t shout about the available $19 plan. Why would they?

In the latest shake up and update of the ClickFunnels packages they have done away with it completely.

How did the ClickFunnels Shared Funnel Plan Work?

Simple really.

You could create a funnel in ClickFunnels. Take the link to that funnel and share it with someone who isn’t a subscriber to ClickFunnels and they could import it and sign up for a very limited plan for $19.

As an affiliate you would get 40% commission of that $19 and maybe that is where the issue lied?

Maybe as part of the new revamp and focus on ClickFunnels packages the profit they made didn’t cover the costs of support and features for the average user?

Or maybe they just want to baseline at $97.

Which, although I absolutely love ClickFunnels, I think is a risky move.

What Does the ClickFunnels Shared Funnel Plan Give You?

It’s limited. No doubt about that.

Access to 3 shared funnels that other people have created and sent to you.

You cannot add pages, however you can edit them, add your logo, photos, copy etc.

Each funnel is limited at 4 pages and there are upper limits on the number of visitors.

Not the most flexible option but they are a great way of spreading the word of ClickFunnels. A superb way of reaching out to untapped small businesses.

As a ClickFunnels affiliate there are many people that have been successful using the shared funnel approach by promising certain small businesses (dentists for example) a sales funnel for $19.

The post signup marketing then consists of establishing proof and credibility to the sales funnel. Showing the customer the huge potential and impact it can have on their business – building trust and proof.

From that point you can lead the customer into the upgraded package where they can expand on their offerings and you too can expand on your commission in a completely non spammy and validated way.

The bad news.

That is gone.

ClickFunnels basic costs $97. The $19 plan is no more.

ClickFunnels Shared Funnel Plan Summary

Unfortunately ClickFunnels have made the decision to simplify their pricing structure. In my eyes, I think it’s a bad move.

I think it’s naive and rules out small business functions. However, I am sure they have thought this through with greater expertise than me.

Is it a sign they are getting greedy?

Attempting to convince people to pay $297 so they can be a never ending learner – binge watching funnel flix?

Maybe!

I can only look from my own perspective.

I currently pay $97 for ClickFunnels. My wife is self employed and a startup. Her outgoings need to be minimal until she builds her business (Beauty industry).

My plan, as a ClickFunnels affiliate, was to build a funnel. A funnel that gives her more qualified leads and greater converted customers.

Then tell that story to other people in her industry. How it has worked for her business and they too can do the same at the low cost of $19 per month.

Her own business would be the social proof required to establish some authority in that area. I can then upsell them into more cost effective 6/12 month packages and also the business training.

My wifes peers and competitors largely won’t know what a sales funnel is. They often rely on facebook, word of mouth, a wordpress website at best.

Will any pay $97 ?

I doubt it.

The argument against my point is……

“If your customers aren’t willing to pay $97 then you are targeting the wrong customers”

I will be honest. I have been hit with this a few times.

It’s a patronising, and either arrogant or ignorant, viewpoint in my opinion. I get it. I really do.

But it’s wrong.

Some industries can’t afford to just throw $97 per month out for several months whilst they put together the pieces of the sales funnel jigsaw.

The ClickFunnels Shared Funnel Plan at $19 afforded them that luxury. It was a lower price point that could be upgraded as you build trust and belief.

But argue all I want – the people that make those decisions have withdrawn it.

It disappeared from the ClickFunnels pricing as silently as it entered.

ClickFunnels Shared Funnel Plan Alternative

So if this low cost way of proving the concept has disappeared, what is the option for small businesses not flush enough to shell out the higher costs?

There are plenty of ClickFunnels alternatives. Maybe the progression of some of these is exactly why Russell Brunson has decided to focus on their core product.

Maybe these once dismissed inferior rivals are actually pretty good now?

It is hard to look at the specifications and feature list of Kartra and think it isn’t a real viable alternative. You get a lot for your money with Kartra.

Equally the WordPress alternatives are up there and improving day by day. Combinations of Elementor Pro and CartFlow are getting a lot of recommendations from some of my peers.

I love WordPress but yes it adds a little complexity and management overhead in return for that lower cost.

Or maybe the answer is to double down my efforts, convince these businesses that $97 is viable, maybe work on the fact that if they completed the One Funnel Away Challenge they would be armed with the skills and knowledge to create their own funnel easily (amongst many other things).

The One Funnel Away Challenge is certainly a life changing bit of training for any small business and maybe that’s the answer. Convincing small business owners to take a leap of faith and start using sales funnels.

Copy and paste those answers into a file, save it as a PDF now you’ve got the perfect giveaway for your potential clients….

You don’t have to be an expert. You don’t have to spend a month creating your own course.

There are ways that anyone can create a lead magnet for their audience to drive up those optin rates and take the next step towards becoming a customer.

What software do I need to create a Lead Funnel?

So Russell obviously wants you to use his software Clickfunnels. Which is why he’s giving you so much value for a mere $7.

Fair enough.

I actually agree with him too.

I am a Clickfunnels subscriber. I pay my monthly fees and use it create landing pages, bridge pages, promotions for my own business and also affiliate products that i promote.

It is extremely easy to use and very fast to create a Sales Funnel (or Lead Funnel).

Do I have to use Clickfunnels to create a Lead Funnel?

No, not at all.

Whilst I would recommend it for ease and speed. The fact that it has loads of prebuilt templates as well as integration with tonnes of 3rd party apps such as email marketing systems.

You can use other landing page builders, paid or free, such as WordPress.

Is it easy to create Lead Funnels in WordPress?

It can be done. Depending on your WordPress theme it may vary on how difficult it is.

If you are using a Page Builder like Elementor Pro then its probably easiest, or maybe even Thrive themes as that was designed to be conversion focused.

Or test out GrooveFunnels which is the latest funnel builder on the market and you can get for free.

So yes, it is definitely possible, but may not be quite as intuitive.

Is Clickfunnels Lead Funnels Swipe File Book worth buying?

My second income stream is based around Digital Marketing – for me, it was well worth the $7, it is great that so much detail has gone into breaking down what actually WORKS.

The marketing and persuasion and copy principles inside this book work across ALL industries.

It isn’t unique to Clickfunnels and the principles can be applied regardless of your choice of Landing Page builder.

If you are a Clickfunnels subscriber or want to become one then you may be interested in the upsell too.

Russell basically offers 30 shared funnels for $37.

A shared funnel is basically a premade template. A ready-made funnel that just needs tweaking and personalising to your business.

You click on it and it imports into your Clickfunnels account. Voila!

They are a great shortcut and save you the time of configuring yourself.

Clickfunnels comes with lots of templates anyway – but these are a great addition too. Pick one and model your Lead Funnel on that template.

I am a huge fan of shared funnels. Imagine what the costs are if you hire someone to design you a website or landing page?

Although Clickfunnels is simple to use, and mainly a drag and drop page builder, you would still have to pay decent money for someone to do this for you.

So to get 30 Lead Funnels premade for $37 is a pretty good deal.

If your not a Clickfunnels user and don’t intend to be, then the book is still of value just don’t choose the upsell.

It is only on Week 3 that we start getting into the technical part.

I was expecting this to be my favorite part – i am a techie by trade so I love clicking around and breaking things.

Published in January 2017, this is the second bestseller from Russell. Owner of Clickfunnels and hugely popular entrepreneur and top affiliate marketer.

This book is about learning to tell your story and message and potentially change someone’s life.

There are people today that need what you have. And they are just waiting for you to find your voice, so you can help them change their lives. What a tragedy for them if you don’t develop your voice now.

Let me start by explaining a little about me, I am a complete introvert. As much as I push to change myself, it’s always there, it’s my nature.

In a room full of people I will be the last to make conversation – and it will be drawn out and awkward when I do. Scared of saying the wrong thing.

I’ve spent the last few months engulfed in the world of ClickFunnels and Russell Brunson. Devouring his books, courses and software.

I have read many entrepreneurial books but his are by far the most life changing books i’ve ever read. This one stuck. This one made me take action.

By day I work a 9-5 job (that I actually like – unlike many seeking self improvement).

When my kids were born, we both had built careers and had no work/life balance. I barely saw my wife, and the kids went from one childcare provider to another.

At the end of every month we would pay our childcare bills and have pretty much none of my wage remaining. All that stress for nothing.

Expert Secrets is the map that will allow you to turn your specialised knowledge, talents and abilities into a business that will work for you! This is one of the shortcuts of the new rich.

Section 1: Creating Your Mass Movement

Russell identifies and reverse engineers how to create true fans. The fans that would follow you anywhere and buy the T-Shirt to prove it.

He discusses great leaders and how they have created their mass movements. The qualities required to be a charismatic or attractive character.

The journey of growth and moving to the next stage of development – contributing to others. How to identify who these “others” are and how you can best serve them and offer value. What market and niche you serve and how to create your own niche

Russell explains one of his favorite books “The One Sentence Persuasion Course” which rather ingeniously states:

People will do anything for those who encourage their dreams, justify their failures, allay their fears, confirm their suspicions, and help them throw rocks at their enemies

This section considers the future you are trying to paint and what life will be like when you get there.

Before moving on to the most important part where you identify and create the “New Opportunity”. The answer to their problems. How do you create this opportunity and start to entice your audience in using hooks.

This part of the book is about realising who you must become and what you need to create to start your own movement.

Section 2: Creating Belief

This section of Expert Secrets Book is about creating that belief in the minds of the followers and persuading them to believe in everything you are telling them.

This is using the magic of storytelling.

Here we learn to identify our own moments and turning points, and how we can tell these stories to best convince your followers that your journey is replicable,

Possibly my favorite part of the book. I love how Russell has created a step by step guide to identifying your own backstory and journey. He gives you the questions and the framework so you can design “you”.

Before using this framework to breakdown objections and beliefs and reinforce new ones.

I generally don’t buy into these kind of books that often. This isn’t a book that will tell you to clear your mind, envisage great things, feel enlightened.

For a normal everyday person like myself, I loved it, because it’s logical. Russell tells you how to use stories to convince people, to tell them about yourself.

You don’t have to live the life of James Bond and keep the world entertained. Normal stories are cool too. We all have relevant tales where we have answered our own questions on our subject.

I am a parent. Before my children were born, I thought…

“I can’t be a good dad, I don’t know how to feed a baby, change a diaper, get them to sleep etc.”

Turns out in hindsight, I figured it all out. The world didn’t end. I answered all of my own false beliefs and can now recall stories and tales of how I achieved this.

As more and more of my friends had the same doubts as expectant parents I was able to offer advice and experience and help alleviate those fears and break those belief patterns.

There are some awesome parts to this section that you may have heard previously if your familiar with Russells work – Kinda like bridges, epiphany script, origin story, hero’s two journeys. So much value!

Section 3: Your Moral Obligation

This is where the nitty gritty of Sales comes in. Good content alone often won’t get the desired results.

Watch it, then read Expert Secrets Book, and rewatch it. You don’t even realise his genius until you watch it again – the body language, delivery, stories, the trial closes and participation.

This is a new world to me, and that “Sales” word has lost that dirtiness I felt before!

Section 4: The Funnels

This section is about creating that selling environment that our new followers enter.

Our funnel, Kinda like a website but one that has less noise and confusion, holds their hand and guides them through the purchase/acquisition process. High conversions and happy customers.

This is where Russells software comes in: Clickfunnels.

A funnel can be created in multiple ways but using ClickFunnels is definitely the way I would recommend. It is developed purposefully for this reason.

If you are proficient in WordPress like myself then you can definitely spend a lot longer recreating the same thing using various plugins, but personally I prefer the ease of clickfunnels.

I echo what others have said: “WordPress for Content. Clickfunnels for Selling”.

Russell goes into the funnels to use and the strategies around them. Format, Pages, Follow up sequences, Email, Urgency etc.

Section 5: Whats Next

This part of the book is a brief summary. It closes on where to start looking for your followers. Where that traffic is now and how you get them to turn round and walk toward yourself.

Whilst this section is brief – his main strategy is there for you to utilise – the Dream 100.

It also leads nicely into his upcoming book “Traffic Secrets” which I personally cannot wait for.

Would I Recommend Expert Secrets?

Without a doubt. If you want to build an audience, take your hobby to the next level, start helping others, improve or create your own business. Then YES. Unequivocally YES.

Russell Brunson will tell you himself, his books are the start of his value ladder.

He gives them away (You only pay for shipping) because he knows you will love them so much that you will want his training, his software, and more.

He teaches you the exact methods by employing these methods on you unknowingly. Some people see this as a negative, but why?

It is genius marketing from Russell Brunson. It gives him absolute credibility in his craft.
