Yes, I know i put this as an advantage too 🙂 However, now I know the value of PVA, I would happily pay a lifetime fee if there was a long term saving. I am shy, introverted a never imagined creating videos for the world to see, but now I have, I love it and YouTube will be a part of my life for a long time to come.

1-to-1 Support

It would be good to see the Primal Video team offer direct 1-to-1 support and access (maybe they do and I don’t realise it?). I am sure there are people out there that would benefit from this. However, if I put myself in Justin’s shoes – he must be some damn busy. They give so much back to the group, also have theor own channels to run, I imagine his time is extremely valuable and so would the cost. An area to consider though perhaps?

How Much Is Primal Video Accelerator?

I mentioned earlier that this training is on a month by month basis. This keeps cash injection constant, and afford them to keep the content relevant and for them to lead and be present in the community. I cannot tell you how many people create a course then vanish, leaving an empty group and content that grows stale by the day. I really appreciate that about PVA and fully support the monthly payment model.

Cost will vary across members, and the reason being, when you join you will usually stay at that price point. So what I pay from 12 months ago, is likely less than you will pay today which is around $49pm (Annual discounted rate available).

Sometimes by necessity as there are little things like bills to pay and maybe the boss man doesn’t give us a salary high enough to cover them, and sometimes it’s to pay for the nicer things in life, like travelling the world or buying shiny things (ooooh shiny). But there’s actually more to it than just a fatter wallet stuffed full of cash (shake wallet) and I am going to reveal that now.

Reasons To Start A YouTube Side Hustle

People often are focused solely on how to make money, and how can I do it from home? What they don’t think about are the other benefits of becoming a YouTuber. Yes, there are some! Some huge ones have the potential to completely transform your life. Let’s go over some of the biggest reasons people start a YouTube side hustle.

Pursue Your Passion

Look, you may never have told your friends, or shared with your family, but now is the time to be proud about your passion for knitting underpants, dressing up as a superhero, or even sharing your knowledge of Korean TV series where everyday people compete for prize money or risk losing their lives.

Or, just maybe it’s something a little more normal than that.

You like to read books, make decorations, bake cakes, teach people to sing, train dogs, write blogs, take photos, or just about anything.

You see it’s surprising how easy it is to monetize your passion and hobby. To find a way of pursuing something that really interests you and actually make money from it.

There are thousands of channels doing this on YouTube. Some show their face in full glory, and some stay behind the scenes and take the gentler approach. You have so many options to share your passion and build an audience of like-minded people.

I get it, between getting ready, getting the kids ready, screaming and shouting til they get their lazy asses out of the house and to school, a full gruelling day at work, only to then have to clean up, prepare food, do the kids homework, get them to bed and then repeat in a few hours time like some kind of haunting groundhog day. Where on earth do you have time for a YouTube side hustle?

First, take a deep breath.

Second, listen, as I truly mean this. You can do it. I promise you.

You see in the past I’ve had side hustles where I created websites for people, I bought and sold physical goods on Amazon, I’ve done all kinds of random things, and they were all time consuming and had to be done at set times. I had deadlines.

They were really hard to balance around my family and day job and other commitments.

Luckily a YouTube side hustle isn’t like that.

It’s far more flexible.

You can make progress anytime you get 5 minutes in your day. On your lunch break, research or start scripting a video, got an hour at the weekend, whip the phone out and record a video. Got 15 minutes at the end of the day, open up Canva and create some thumbnails.

What I am saying is that YouTube is fluid. There are a lot of tasks that you can tick off your todo list as and when you get the time. Yes, YouTube does reward consistency, but as you get into your rhythm you get better and faster at these things. Many people batch process their content where they record multiple videos at once and make the most of their time.

Low Startup Costs

There are people making thousands on YouTube every month and in a moment I will explain how. Lots of them started with nothing more than a laptop and webcam, or even just a phone. Yes as you grow you can invest in lighting, audio and video equipment, but really you can start with the basics.

Long Term Potential

Look let’s be honest with each other. Are you going to create 5 videos, set the world alight, and in the blink of an eye you have fame, fortune and the world on a plate. Hell no.

But YouTube is jam-packed full of opportunities. What starts as a side hustle and hobby today, could be your full-time gig and business later. You could have studios, employees, customers, and real fulfillment by teaching something you are passionate about every day. Would that be worth the hard work, would the be worth pushing your comfort zone?

Some of you have jobs you hate, or don’t have jobs at all. Youtube isn’t like a job where you trade your time for money, because they don’t pay an hourly rate. Initially, you are working for free whilst you hone your craft and build an audience. But long term, YouTube can scale much faster and bigger than your career and the rewards would be beyond what you could imagine.

YouTube is a genuine platform to build a business of your own.

Help Others

This is one of my favourites and one of the reasons I love creating YouTube content. Sure money is nice, and I will explain more in 1 minute how you can earn on YouTube, but by helping others you get true fulfilment.

I cannot emphasise enough how satisfying it is when one person reaches out and says “thankyou” for creating a video, that helped them, solved their problem or inspired them to make a change in their own life. Seriously, how often do you get to make an impact on people in that way? It’s incredibly rewarding and humbling.

And the thing with YouTube is that your videos are shown 24/7 to people from all over the world. This isn’t like helping your neighbour push-start their broken-down car and getting a high five, this is powerful. Someone somewhere in the world watched a video you created, and it helped them in some way. Absolutely one of my favourite things about YouTube.

As John C Maxwell said, “If you want to improve your world, then focus your attention on helping others”.

How To Make Money On YouTube

I promised at the end I would explain how you can make money on YouTube even as a beginner. Now, most people assume that you have to keep creating content until you reach YouTubes lofty monetisation targets (4000 hours watched & 1000 subscribers!).

When that happens you get to run adverts and YouTube pays you each month, and that’s awesome. Real passive income and a great way to reward content creators. But you’ve got to qualify first and that takes a while.

But there is one strategy you can do from day 1 and that’s called affiliate marketing.

This is a really simple process, where you recommend products and services, and if someone clicks on your unique affiliate link and buys that product, you earn a commission. Now in some cases that can be a few cents, and in other cases, it can be thousands of dollars.

It’s how I earn the majority of my side hustle income on YouTube and when you do it in the right way people don’t mind clicking your link, they see you are genuine, they trust you and they are happy for you to earn a little money as it doesn’t cost them any more than if they just went straight to the seller themselves.

What Do You Need To Learn?

First, what do I mean when I say let’s learn YouTube?

Technically YouTube is a video platform, yes we need to figure out the layout, and basically what button does what, but that’s only a small part of the process. Really what we need to learn are all of the things about YouTube including:

• Scripting
• Structure
• Equipment
• Editing
• Recording
• Video styles
• Analytics
• Thumbnails
• Monetisation
• And so much more.

Sounds daunting doesn’t it, well don’t be scared. Anyone can learn these things over time, and if you want to speed up that process here is what I would do.

Tip 1 – Start Today

The best time to grow a tree was 20 years ago, the second-best time is today. Not tomorrow or the day after, or maybe next week when I just get this other thing out the way. The fastest way to learn is to start.

Sound simple doesn’t it, but honestly most of us fall into a trap of consuming more than we create.

I bet you any money that the big YouTubers will spend far more time creating content, whilst we are bouncing from one video to another feeling more and more inadequate as we go. This makes getting started much harder. So start today.

Tip 2 – Invest In Yourself

If you’ve got the money then spend it.

Unless this is just a hobby for you then why not treat it like a business?

My goal with YouTube was to learn new skills and make money to support my family. This is why I am also happy to invest that money into my own YouTube education.

It really bugs me how people are willing to spend thousands on their school education, to end up in a job that isn’t even relevant to their qualification, yet still won’t invest in themselves when it comes to an online business.

Look here are some options for you, all of which I have bought myself and every single one has helped develop my skills and confidence.

You can join a coaching program where you get personal feedback and access to an expert, I signed up with Brian G Johnson, because I love his style and its a community of committed YouTubers, being around these people to talk about the highs and lows really can help push you on.

If your budget is lower then look at Primal Video, Justin and Mike have over 1 million subs on youtube, and their flagship course costs just over a dollar a day, the doors only open every now and then so you need to keep an eye on this one.

Lastly take a look at Skillshare, lots of excellent courses in all aspects of content creation, its ridiculously cheap and you can even get t free for 30 days and really throw yourself into it. I will leave links to all of these in the description.

Think about what you spend your money on now and whether a Starbucks a day really is better than improving your skills and having a blueprint to learn YouTube faster.

Tip 3 – Open Your Ears

Sometimes it’s better to watch what people do rather than listen to what they say.

This is especially true with big names who are excellent marketers. A lot of the content they create is for a purpose, to increase their brand awareness or sell a course, and that’s fine, I like that.

So instead of listening to what they are telling you in the video watch what they are doing.

Listen to the language, look at their style, their editing, the way they structure their video, the way they interact with you the viewer such as asking you questions and provoking your pain points.

The gold is often in observing what the top creators do and tuning in to the real magic behind their success.

Tip 4 – Constantly Improve

If you want to learn YouTube fast then you need to focus on continuous improvements.

Don’t wait until you’re an expert as that’s impossible if you aren’t producing videos.

Just get a video out there, done, dusted, published, available for the whole world to point their finger and ridicule you. Only joking about that part – really no one gives a crap what you’re doing.

Once that video is out there move onto the next but think about ONE  thing you can improve, audio, lighting, video quality, your speech, the content itself.

There are so many things that you can improve and the key is to not try and improve everything at once otherwise you will get stuck, lost in that imposter syndrome, and unable to publish again. Continuous improvement will help you learn YouTube fast.

Tip 5 – Get A Grip

Stop playing the pity card.

You know I’m talking to you!

“I can’t do this, I can’t do that, no ones showed me before, but what if someone laughed or someone said mean things.”

Stop it and stop it now.

Here is what I’ve learned in life, and it sounds a cliche, because it is.

Life is short, you need to fill it with all the stuff that gives you fulfillment.

YouTube, for me and many others, is a big part of this, I get to connect with amazing people, earn money to help pay for family holidays and experiences, learn new skills, and have that sense of challenge and opportunity.

Unfortunately, no one is going to do that for you, it’s all on you.

So now is the time to roll your sleeves up, stop moaning and crying about all the what-ifs or the tough cards you’ve been dealt with in life, and start creating content.

Skillshare

Skillshare is a paid online learning platform, which has a tonne of different courses all created by talented content creators. You may find that some of your favourite YouTubers have courses on skillshare such as Ali Abdaal and Marques Brownlee, and that’s because skillshare rewards creators and pays them when their content is consumed.

This means you can learn really niche and specific skills like how to use adobe after effects, or how to create your thumbnails in Canva.

Sadly you don’t get that coaching factor or community, and it’s not as Youtube focused as some of the other options, you do get access to a broad range of courses, and at around $100 a year it’s very good value for money.

How much Do YouTubers Make?

It’s well-publicized what some of the big YouTubers make each year, take a look at these staggering amounts that are reported.

• Ryan Kaji – Earnings: $29.5 million
• Mr. Beast (Jimmy Donaldson) – Earnings: $24 million
• Dude Perfect – Earnings: $23 million
• Rhett and Link – Earnings: $20 million
• Markiplier (Mark Fischbach) – Earnings: $19.5 million

With a 9-year-old topping the list at almost $30 million, and the shocking part is this is only a fraction of what they earn overall – as Youtube has opened the door to more lucrative ways to earn money.

We will cover these at the end of the post as a little bonus, so stick to the end.

First, though we need to look at how much YouTube pays you for each video view that you can generate and what you need to consider if you want to be maximizing this number.

Let’s start with understanding how YouTubers get paid by YouTube.

How Do YouTubers Get Paid?

It’s a pretty straightforward process.

YouTube runs adverts on YouTube videos, some play at the start, some are during the video, some are just clickable images at the bottom or in the search results.

But where do these adverts come from?

What many people don’t realize is that YouTube is owned by Google. The same Google that has its own advertising platform called Google Adsense.

Companies and individuals that want to advertise their businesses or products will go to Adsense and they will create their adverts, as well as choosing certain criteria of who they wish to target – this could be related to where the potential customer is located, their gender, age or they can be much more specific.

Obviously, the advertiser has to pay for the privilege and this amount can vary depending on the criteria they have chosen.

For example, if they wish to advertise to an American audience they will pay more than if they were showing their adverts to a Phillipino audience, this is because they know there is greater buying power in the US.

So this is where the adverts come from.

Google Adsense pays YouTube to take these adverts and run them on its platform.

(In fact, these days it will run the adverts on almost any video).

But sadly, it doesn’t mean every YouTube creator is getting a share of this revenue from YouTube, not at all.

In order for YouTube to pay you for your video views, you need to be part of their Partner Program.

This is an agreement that YouTube will share its revenue with you as a content creator, after all, without talented people creating videos there is no YouTube.

YouTube Partner Program Explained

Unfortunately with the YouTube Partner Program, you won’t be able to join from day one – not anymore anyway. Instead, you need to prove yourself, create content and build your channel and audience up until you can meet their requirements:

1. Follow all the YouTube monetisation policies.
2. Live in a country/region where the YouTube Partner Programme is available.
3. Have more than 4,000 valid watch hours in the last 12 months.
4. Have more than 1,000 subscribers.
5. Have a linked AdSense account.

I can tell you from experience, this isn’t an easy journey, but I promise you it will be worthwhile. If you are serious about earning money from YouTube then it’s worth the effort.

So now you understand how YouTubers get paid from YouTube.

YouTube is sharing the revenue that they receive from Adsense advertisers.

How Much Does A YouTuber Get Paid For 1000 views?

As we covered earlier when we discussed how many views to make money on YouTube. The amount that the advertiser has to pay can vary on many different things, and this is why this figure is tough to predict.

Each YouTuber will be earning different amounts per 1000 views. Let me explain and show you my own earnings as an example.

CPM Vs RPM

In my YouTube statistics there are a couple of figures we need to be aware of:

Playback-based CPM (Cost Per Mille) – This figure shows you how much advertisers paid per thousand monetized playbacks. A monetised playback happens when a viewer sees at least one advert when watching one of your videos. So if they stop watching before an advert is shown then it won’t count.

RPM (Revenue Per Mille) – This number represents how much money you make per 1000 video views.

Do you see how the RPM figure is lower than the CPM figure? Well there are a few good reasons for this:

1. Not every video is monetized. Some you may not be allowed to run adverts or you may choose not to as you want a better viewing experience.
2. RPM is your share of the revenue, whereas CPM includes what YouTube will take too.

So as a creator, the RPM figure is a better indicator of what you earn per 1000 views on YouTube.

Does that make sense?

So in the example above, I averaged $3.56 in May per 1000 views. As my earnings were $291 that means I had around 81,000 view on my YouTube channel.

Now something else you should consider, is that the RPM figure can vary massively depending on a few factors. So you can see that my RPM is around $4.

Some of the YouTubers I know have an RPM of around $16-20. So they are earning 4-5 times as much as myself for every 1000 Youtube views.

But Why? And how can you earn more for your views?

How Can I Earn More Per Views On YouTube?

Put yourself in the shoes of an advertiser, think about who you would like to buy your products? Where would you find these people and what kind of content on YouTube are they likely to be watching?

This is why it’s good to understand your YouTube audience.

As we said earlier, if your audience is predominantly based in the US, UK, Canada or Australia your RPM will be higher. From an advertising perspective, people in these countries are more willing and able to buy.

Another factor is your niche and video topic.

Let’s say you created videos about badgers, the people watching are going to be badger enthusiasts which don’t really open them up to a huge amount of products that advertisers could sell them.

Whereas channels in software, health, tech, or finance niches have a lot of advertisers willing to outbid each other in order to get their ads seen. This increases the amount they are willing to spend and ultimately your RPM.

Why Do Some YouTube Videos Earn More?

Remember your RPM is based on your channel average, if you go to your analytics you can break this down per video.

As you can see, I have a video that’s based on some popular software that I use (Videoscribe), this is earning almost 8 x per 1000 views as my most popular video, and that’s because this companies competitors will be trying to find new customers that are likely watching my video.

So think about the videos you create and why someone will be searching for that particular video?

Buyer intent keywords such as a review video will often be advertiser competitive which is good for you if you can rank that video.

Summary Of How many views to make money on YouTube in 2021?

In a moment, I will tell you how to make even more money on YouTube but let’s look back at what we just covered.

YouTube and us content creators make money from YouTube advertising. But only when we have qualified and joined the YouTube Partner Program.

There are many factors that ultimately affect our earning potential for video views and largely come down to the audience that we attract.

After that, the more views we generate, the more we can potentially earn. So either way that you look at it, focus on building an audience and becoming a better creator.

Other Ways YouTubers Make Money

I promised you earlier on that I would tell you how to triple your earnings on YouTube and some of the tips I’ve given you around RPM will certainly help but I want to give you even more.

Plus, the good news is that this also applies to those of you that haven’t yet qualified for the YouTube partner program and can’t yet make money from video views.

There has never been an easier time to create digital products such as courses and ebooks. The software is out there to build and host anything you want, then you provide the expertise and the buying audience, and voila your own digital products.

Coaching & Mentoring

As you create content and build trust and a reputation in your niche that gives you the opportunity to one day take that further. You have the platform to become a teacher, a coach, a mentor in your niche. Maybe not today, but who knows where your journey will take you.

What Is Affiliate Marketing On YouTube?

One of my videos made me $500 in one sale, another earned me $1000 in one sale, in fact, many of these videos have the potential to earn money, and it isn’t from YouTube advertising revenue.

The strategy used here is called affiliate marketing, which is basically a referral system where you get rewarded if you introduce a buyer to a seller.

Let me explain, ok, so remember when you were a kid and maybe you got a new pair of trainers or sneakers, that first time you pulled the shoelaces tight and took them for a test drive. You would throw that door open and get outside. Starting with a bit of a walk, a little run, maybe a jump in the air, or a kick of the ball.

That awesome feeling when you can swap those stinky hole-ridden old things for your fresh new shoes.

Now imagine that you turn to your friends and you tell them how these trainers have made you:

• Faster at running
• You can jump higher at basketball
• Kick the ball harder at football
• And did you mention how the girls heads turn when you are walking down the street?

They are going to want a pair of their own, they are going to be asking you “Jon, where did you get those trainers!” and so you give them the link to the website they can buy them on, your special affiliate link.

They click that link, buy those shoes, and there you have it – you just made a commission.

Now imagine that instead of telling your friends, you were telling the 2 billion active users that visit YouTube each month!

That’s affiliate marketing.

It’s a 12 billion industry and one of the leading ways that content creators earn money online.

Now buckle up, I am about to give you 5 important lessons you need to learn before you can earn money on YouTube through affiliate marketing.

Why Affiliate Marketing is F#cking Awesome

The first thing to cover is why we want to use affiliate marketing, is it really worth the effort to learn?

Short answer – your damn right it is, and here’s why.

We’ve already covered that getting monetized for ads requires you to qualify and pretty high milestones, and for some of you, it may be that you have created all of these videos and when the time comes may even get rejected and so you can’t even run ads.

Affiliate marketing though is all done external to YouTube, they don’t control it.

What normally happens is that you find products that fit with your content, you then apply to be an affiliate. Some of the product owners and vendors will make this really easy and some will require you to apply and check that you’re a good fit. I will explain in a moment where to find good affiliate programs, but you need to understand how simple this process is.

Put yourself in the shoes of the product owner, they have so much to worry about:

• Design
• Manufacturing
• Marketing
• Sales
• Shipping
• Customer service
• Returns and so on

Sounds like an absolute ballache right!

Whereas you as the affiliate, just have to convince people to click on that link. That’s it. It’s a ridiculously simple way of making money on YouTube or any content platform.

How To Promote Affiliate Products The Right Way

So you know what affiliate marketing is, but how do you do it the right way? Let me explain how to increase the number of sales you make and also not tarnish your reputation by coming across as a shady product pusher.

Firstly, don’t be a douche, just promote good products that people will like and will help solve their problems.

If you promote low-quality crap that you don’t believe in then people will pick up on that. Remember you are building a platform, a long-term business, where people watch your videos, trust you and are happy to invest in your recommendations. That won’t last long if you throw any old rubbish in their direction.

Secondly, if you want to increase those sales and earn more in commissions, then consider the products you promote.

Don’t push the features, instead focus on the benefits.

For example, this software costs a minimum $97 a month, anyone that signs up under my affiliate link will earn me almost $40 every month they use the software.

Now I don’t create content saying “There are 100 font styles, or that you can create 20 different sales funnels”, instead, I would focus on the fact that a sales funnel “streamlines the buying process for their customers, it is proven to increase their conversion rate, and using this software you can increase the minimum order value and ultimately your profits”.

Focus on the benefits and the transformation that the product brings. To do this you need to consider people’s pain points, the things that stop them from sleeping at night, and what they truly need.

Where To Find Good Affiliate Products

By now we are probably on the same page, and in agreement that affiliate marketing is awesome. But you want to know where to find affiliate products right? Don’t worry, I’ve got you, this part is easy.

First up, what products or services are popular in your niche, and may be relevant to your audience?

What are others in your genre promoting?

Go to google and type in that product name plus affiliate. Research the links that come up. Some retailers will use an affiliate network, such as commissionjunction, shareasale, awin, impact. These are basically networks with lots of retailers, and you create an account and apply for each one.

One of the most popular affiliate programs is Amazon.

Look for the link at the bottom of the homepage and apply there, its a really easy process and as you know amazon has almost any product for sale. eBay is exactly the same.

Now if you want more lucrative and higher-paying products then I suggest you look at Clickbank which is another marketplace but for digital products.

There are things on ClickBank you can promote for woodworking, learning languages, losing weight and pretty much any subject you can imagine. You do need to do some homework though and verify if they are any good.

My favourite category to look in is software, they usually offer rewarding affiliate schemes that pay generously, and often they pay each month that someone is a member. If you go to capterra.com and have a browse around you might find software that is relevant to your niche.

Once you have been accepted to an affiliate program the vendor will give you a unique link to use, this is yours alone, and anyone who clicks on it will be tracked and associated with yourself.

This is how they know who to pay.

How Do I Promote An Affiliate Product On YouTube?

So you have your product now you need to promote it. Like I mentioned earlier, do this in the most genuine and legit way possible as you are building a reputation not just chasing money.

Now listen up, 68% of Youtube users used YouTube to help make a purchasing decision. And many people use YouTube to learn and to solve problems, so create content that does exactly that.

Let’s say you are in the fitness niche and promoting this big fat bucket of whey protein – a personal favourite of mine…..

You could create videos that are based on buyer intent, in other words, they are what people would search for when they are close to buying like a Serious Gainz review video, or a top 5 whey proteins for meat heads video, or you can create more generic videos where the product just plays a small part.

In the video and the description, you want to add CTAs (Call To Actions).

This is where you tell your viewer to follow the link. And for those that do, and make a purchase, you earn your commission.

How Much Can You Earn With Affiliate Marketing On YouTube?

The beauty of YouTube is that when you start building momentum and growing your channel, your videos are shown all over the world and at any time of the day.

It becomes a passive income machine where you can truly earn commissions whilst you sleep – that old cliche.

The bigger you get the better the chances of making affiliate sales.

I made way more from affiliate sales than I did advertising revenue last year, it all depends on what products you are promoting and what commissions they earn.

See what Paddy does is, he analyses YouTube growth and strategy and blends that in with what we call hero videos. He rides the tailcoat of fame by running a deep dive into popular YouTubers and shows us smaller YouTubers how these people created their success.

Paddy is so good at this he is now working with leading YouTubers like MrBeast to help improve their content. Paddy is using explainer videos to illustrate the story so that we can easily follow along, and then mixes that up with some screen footage.

At no point does Paddy sit down and talk to the camera, yet look at how successful he is with over 200k subscribers and he hasn’t even hit 25 videos yet.

Amazing stuff.

In my opinion, using this video style allows Paddy to focus more on the delivery, tone, and copywriting that makes his channel so good.

2 Minute Classroom – Education Power

2 Minute classroom creates videos about science and maths for high school students. He is tapping into one of the most important features of whiteboard animations – simplicity.

So take note as this will really help you with your own channel.

This creator is producing videos that explain a subject or concept in a quick and efficient way. No high school student wants to watch a 45-minute scientific breakdown when it could be delivered in 2 minutes, and when it’s done via illustration our brain learns much quicker.

This is why these type of videos work really well with informational content.

Practical Psychology – It’s All In Your Head

Checkout channel number 3 whose got close to 2 million subscribers. I kid you not.

These videos have been viewed over 100m times. This channel creates videos usually around 5-10 minutes long and they are in-depth on the subject of psychology and personal development, they are using Youtube to not only earn money through advertising but also link to multiple courses that they have created. These courses are making them passive income from the millions of viewers on their channel.

It is safe to say that this channel owner doesn’t have any need to ask his boss for a raise this year!

The Art Of Improvement – Gets Better Every Time

The fact that you are watching this video now tells me two things, firstly that you are frickin awesome, and secondly that you are looking at ways you can improve yourself.

This may be with new skills, by taking the leap and starting a YouTube channel or even that you wish to make more money.

Well, guess what, Youtube is the go-to place for anyone looking to learn something or solve a problem, which is exactly why the art of improvement channel has so much success. They focus on personal development and give clear guidance and inspiration by using videoscribe animations.

Now I’m not sure if you have tried videoscribe yet, but you may look at some of these videos and think, well I’m ok with the scripting, and how to share my knowledge but the animation part looks way too difficult.

If you are struggling to think what your channel should be about then have a think about what you are good at teaching or explaining.

Personally, I think that’s why there are so many good examples in this niche, teachers are good at breaking a concept down and explaining it to their audience, with animation added on top they have the perfect combination to be successful on YouTube.

So this channel is sharing their knowledge and making a nice little side income from YouTube, and the best part is that they don’t need to show their face, they can remain completely anonymous, and they can create these videos around their busy life as all you need is a laptop and videoscribe.

The Swedish Investor – Making Bank

If you want a YouTube niche that makes money then one of the biggest is the finance niche, whether that’s how to make money online or personal finance or investing, it’s very lucrative. This is why this channel has nailed it with its content choice.

The Swedish Investor goes against the norm when it comes to video length, they actually create really long form and detailed videos but i want to reiterate the point they make in their own about page:

I will share with you the most successful strategies for taking your personal finance and investing to the next level, in a SIMPLE and ENJOYABLE way.

You see those keywords, don’t you? Simple and enjoyable.

For me, the key to a good whiteboard animation channel is all about taking a concept and presenting that in a simpler way that is also easy on the eye and simple to follow along and understand.

Anyone can do this. Often we get carried away and geek out on things we are experienced and knowledgeable about, when we talk to beginners we melt their brains with terminology and assume that they know the basics.

Remember that we all start somewhere, and to put yourself in their shoes and simplify everything.

Number 1 has to be a Minecraft channel just like Dream. Now the reason I’m starting with this one is because the last time I created one of these videos, I didn’t include him, in fact, I was the only person on the planet to never have even heard of him.

Look I’m old and I’ve already forgotten what I had for breakfast today so gimme a break. So this is for the 8 trillion comments that asked where Dream was. Well, here you go! alright? Happy now!?

Remember, YouTube gaming channels are massively popular, with over 80 thousand channels passing the 100 thousand subscriber mark, so there is huge demand for your button bashing talents, but it may be best jumping on new games and trends where there’s less competition

YouTube Channel Idea #2 – Horror Story Animation

So a shoutout to one of my viewers Kawai Chan for number 2, who suggested IAmRocker, which if you didn’t know is a really random but pretty cool niche of animated horror stories.

They have close to a million subscribers and they are making a pretty decent chunk of cash every month.

Socialblade suggests they could be earning up to 140 thousand dollars a year.

Now, something to point out is that social blade always has 2 figures that are way apart and this is because youtube advertising revenue is determined on so many factors, such as audience location, niche, relevant advertisers. But I always lean towards the higher end, because Socialblade is bang on the nose with my own channel, and I’m yet to see another YouTuber that doesn’t say similar.

So if you are the creative sort and like to write horror stories then maybe this is a profitable niche for you. And if you are worried that you don’t know how to create animations then fear not because you can learn that kind of thing right here on YouTube, which takes me seamlessly into number 3….

YouTube Channel Idea #3 – Tutorials

Nick creates amazing tutorials on Inkscape (which is photoshop for poor folk like me). Logos by Nick does a few things really well, and you should write these down as they are key to your new channel.

1) He doesn’t show his face, he just uses a screen recording app to record exactly what he does. There are tonnes of options for this at all different price levels. So Nick doesn’t have to worry about the lighting, how his room is staged, or even whether he’s having a bad hair day. He records his screen and goes for it.

2) Nick knows his audience and he creates content that is extremely helpful for them. The Inkscape community, is full of designers that prefer free open-source software instead of expensive adobe offerings, and if you have ever used a good graphic tool like Inkscape then the learning curve is steep, the first place you look is YouTube for some visual learning.

You can apply this same principle to any piece of software out there so the opportunities are endless

YouTube Channel Idea #4 – MrMoney

Make money online is channel idea number 4, So this is a niche that I dabble in too, and I won’t lie, it’s a tough niche, because it’s so lucrative.

Ad revenue is usually pretty high because there are big-spending advertisers trying to solve one of life’s biggest problems, money, or lack of it.

But competitive doesn’t mean you should always steer clear. It just means there is proven demand and you are best looking for the smaller sub-niches where you can get some traction and build your subscribers. SO bear that in mind whatever niche you’re in.

MrMoney is an established name in this niche and he has a great style that you can easily replicate, he does feature in some of his videos but most are faceless, he uses a lot of stock video footage, assembles them together in a video editor, and adds his voiceover.

This is something you can do too. You can download the footage from free sites like pexels or pixabay, or even pay and get access to a wider selection by using sites like storyblocks or envato.

Many of the channels in the make money online niches won’t be focused just on ad revenue, they will be making serious money using affiliate products, where you get paid a commission if someone buys through your affiliate link – for me, this is the best monetisation strategy on the internet and if you want to know more about it then check out this free training.

YouTube Channel Idea #5 – Psychology

The next channel example is Practical Psychology, and before I show you their channel you should realise that the strategy they use works really well for any kind of informational and educational content.

Practical Psychology have been on Youtube for 5 years so it’s fair to say that they put the work and time in. They create quality content without showing their face, and the technique they are using is whiteboard explainer videos.

In particular, they are using a software called videoscribe, which by some amazing coincidence I also have a video explaining the entire process (check it out here)

Whiteboard explainer videos are a fantastic way of keeping people watching by using visual storytelling, combined with some expertise in a certain area you have a powerful combination for a YouTube channel, and you too could be creating videos that rack up millions of views just like Practical Psychology

YouTube Channel Idea #6 – Drinks

If getting absolutely smashed out of your head at 8 in the morning, and getting paid for it is your thing then you’re going to like youtube channel idea number 6.

Now ok this one is a bit of a curveball, it’s a cocktail making channel. Most of these channels do actually show their face and are usually all about the bartender sharing their skills and expertise, it’s a niche that has really grown in popularity.

But that doesn’t mean it can’t work for faceless channels too, its a similar concept to the many cooking programs out there where you just have that camera lined up nicely on a nicely set backdrop and just show your hands. Twisted Bar is a growing channel that does this well and if you like a tipple and it’s a subject you’re interested in then maybe one for you to consider too.

YouTube Channel Idea #7 – Cooking

Number 7 is short and sweet just like the food that they are cooking over on the food wishes channel.

Cooking and recipe channels are exactly the same premise as cocktails, you just need a well-positioned camera to show how you prep and cook your delicious meals.

This channel is a bit of a beast, according to social blade they are almost in the top 1000 YouTube channels in the states. One of the best parts about food, and cooking channels is yes it is competitive, but you can niche down. One way to niche down is to specialise in foods and recipes from your part of the world where there may be less competition.

YouTube Channel Idea #8 – Animals

YouTube channel idea number 8 is a tribute to our four-legged friends and one of my favourite channels on YouTube called Animal facts, they who work tirelessly to improve their YouTube channel, let me show you a few things they do so damn well as these could really help you

1) Big bold bright thumbnails that catch the eye

2) They have a strong audience connection, let’s face it, people love dogs more than their own children at times.

3) The type of videos they create, they use all of the winning tactics, top 10 lists, vs videos, highly targeted keywords and they do all of this with stock footage

This is a channel owner that has dedicated time to really learning how YouTube works.

YouTube Channel Idea #9 – Enthusiast

Now for number 9 on our list of Youtube channel ideas without showing your face, Babbletop, yes, you heard me right, Babbletop is not just a really weird name, its also a massive YouTube channel that appeals to food enthusiasts as well as those of you that love a good top 10 list.

No, it’s not another cooking channel, jeez I’m not that lazy.

Instead, this is a channel that creates all kinds of food-related content, using stock footage, TV commercials, and in some cases footage from TV shows. They then assemble it all together with their own voiceover commentary.

Now one word of warning, when you reuse TV and commercial footage you need to be very careful in how you do this because of licensing implications.

You will notice that Babbletop have a disclaimer on each video that says they are re-purposing the content using fair use. So if this is your strategy make sure you do your research on what you can and can’t do. But don’t just upload an entire TV show, edit it, repurpose it, add commentary that talks about it in a different purpose than it was originally intended.

YouTube Channel Idea #10 – Facts

People go to YouTube to learn things. That’s a fact. And that’s why fact channels are really popular.

Body hub has around 900 thousand subscribers, and they create great content on anything and everything to do with the human body, even the squishy and wrinkly bits. But the genius is in how they do this.

A lot of the channels I’ve shown you so far will use stock video, a voiceover, maybe some music, and some graphic overlays and then blend all that together in a video editor. Well, Body hub is one of the channels using an even easier method. They are using software called Vidnami to automate the entire process.

Here’s how it works:

• You write your video script

YouTube Channel Idea #11 – Gacha Life

Now, I’m not saying I’m old, but I was talking to a dinosaur yesterday and he was telling me all about Gacha life videos.

Now I’m not gonna lie to you, I’ve had to do some googling on this one, and I hope I’ve got facts for you and not the cringe-worthy ramblings of an old man.. Apologies in advance young people

So Gacha life is a role-playing game where you get to customise characters and scenes. So what some incredibly patient people do is that they screenshot their phone to capture that frame, then they may edit an eye movement and screenshot again. It’s like a modern version of when you used to draw in the corner of a notebook and then flick through really fast.

But that’s how some people have created pretty decent YouTube channels like this one by itz lindy gacha.

Now before you run off and get started, just do your research. If your goal is just to have fun, connect with people, and improve your skills then you’re good. If however, you want to make money then you may run into issues running ads as technically a large percentage of the audience may be kids and so there are rules and stuff that YouTube puts in place.

Take a look though, because Lindy is running ads and social blade suggests that they make more than most people do in their 9-5 job.

YouTube Channel Idea #12 – Student Support

Mega marketer Pat Flynn’s first online business was creating tips and advice for people studying an architecture exam.

Ali Abdaal is a YouTube phenomenon that created much of his content about medical school and all that it entails. Both of these show their faces, but the point is they also built credible audiences and income streams by helping students or people trying to achieve qualifications.

This channel is called Respiratory Therapy Zone.

Not the eye-catching, super sexy content that’s likely to hit the trending page, yet here they are, with 250,000 subscribers and millions of views. They have identified an audience, which in their case is respiratory therapists and students, and they create content that supports them in their studies and career, and they are making around 8 thousand a month in the process.

This is a great channel idea, and you can do exactly the same for the thousands of career and qualification paths out there.

And look, just like I promised you, no face!

Instead, they are another channel using our old friend Videoscribe…. did I mention I have several other videos that go into this technique, sat patiently for you to finish this video. Yeah, I did.

YouTube Channel Idea #13 – Experiments

Number 13 on our list of best YouTube channel ideas without showing your face is one of those classic binge-watch niches. The ones where curiosity gets the better of you. That’s right, it’s an experiment channel. and the best part about these is that usually, all you need is a camera, some music and a way of creating intrigue.

True or false experiments post much more frequently and they follow a model, they use a particular bit of machinery and either squash, pour, grind or whatever to a variety of objects like firecrackers, nails, sweets, coca cola, but do you know what the crazy part is, they are earning between 250 thousand and 4 million dollars a year.

Other channels also follow this concept, often by cutting objects in half or crushing things with high powered machinery.

Disclaimer – don’t do this if you cant do it safely, or you’re not qualified, this video is not advice I’m just showing what others are doing. So if you copy this and lose an arm that’s on you numbnuts. Seriously though, experiments don’t have to be dangerous, look at some of the kids channels that literally mix slime or just chop plastic toys in half, so stay safe
